| The name of "Borat" is hard to miss across the United States over the course of the past couple of weeks. Borat is a make believe television reporter from Kazakhstan. He is the creation of Sacha Baron Cohen, who is a British comedian. He has obtained a pretty intense and growing following in the United States and in other English speaking countries. Borat wears poor fitting suits, has a strange way of speaking English, is a racist and a sexist ... to say the least. In the just released movie “Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan,” Borat is seen traveling across the United States. He has many unusual and even bizarre encounters with typical Americans. Critics in the United States actually have hailed the movie. On the other hand, officials in Kazakhstan protest the movie and the Borat character. When Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited the United States, Borat made his way to the gates of the Kazakh Embassy in Washington. He had a group of real life reporters on hand with him. He said he wanted to talk to Roman Vassilenko, who is the embassy’s press secretary. In recent days, it seems authorities in Kazakhstan have become more relaxed in their views of Borat. |
