| | Rocker Bono has stated that at one time he feared that his commitment to fighting poverty might end up costing him a place in his band, U2. He noted that the band members are hugely supportive of him financially and spiritually. But, he realizes that they are a rock and roll band and the first priority of a rock and roll band is not to be dull, Bono told the BBC recently. Therefore, he noted that the band has had to be careful about not letting him go to far. Bono, together with fellow muscian Bob Geldof, was one of the founders of this year's Make Poverty History Campaign and the Live 8 concert. He frequently makes on stage comments about poverty during his band's concerts.
