| | Bill Clinton, former U.S. President, began his first full day of recovery on Friday following an operation to remove scar tissue and fluid that had built up after previous heart bypass surgery. The heart bypass surgery was performed six months ago. Clinton was expected to spend at least three but not more than ten days in the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, according to Dr. Herbert Pardes, the president of the hospital. According to Pardes, Clinton is expected to be walking within 24 hours. The most recent operation on the former President was considered low risk and a procedure that is necessary in only a fraction of one percent of all bypass cases. |
