I'd give a pretty penny to know what the flaw is that caused the low score. I really would like to know.

Voting not finished yet, but there are so many great images in this contest with a lot of work in, who have also got low scores. People seem to go for big images of Big Ben. Not everyone will recognise the guy in the picture. Presumably he was chosen for a reason. Possibly a large close up of your Big ben would have helped.

AZ you may just have explained it. Very few caught either the joke or the juxtapposition. Screw the originality, the technique - if you do nit understand an entry vote it down. Oh wellll Art & love and others eyes.

I'd give a pretty penny to know what the flaw is that caused the low score. I really would like to know. There isn't a flaw with your work and certainly nothing which would warrant a vote of '3'. The concept and composition is fine. Where I think that you restricted the potential of your work was in the amount of time required to complete your entry. I don't think that you really pushed your skills to their full potential with this entry and as a result, the votes reflected this. Again, there is nothing wrong with your entry but you basically tied everyone's hands on this with what they could do in terms of voting. In my brief experience here, you really have to get the '' factor into your entry if you want to get into the 7+ on the voting scale so keep that in mind when you put your next composition together.

cOOp, thanks fro the reply. That is sorta what I was looking for. It;'s is not a 'winner' I knew that, and know that. What I was referencing was the number of '4s' that it got. 4 means an entry needs more work...so if someone gives a four I at least, expect a comment pointing out the defects...that is how I learn. So not whining at all about the score so much as the complete lack of goddam feedback. Where are the defects in this work.

In most cases it probably comes down to time constraints. Although I would prefer that the system was set up so that you could only vote on an entry if you entered a comment, we have to go with what is currently being used. Hopefully, the comment would be a constructive critique too and not just a 'good' or a ''. In my case, I have only found time recently to vote but not comment on some entries and visa-versa on others. With respect to your entry, I believe that I gave it either a 4 or 5 but didn't find time to offer a critique so apologies for the lack of feedback on this one. Looking at it now, I still see nothing wrong with the image, design-wise, but taking into account the amount of work required to create what you have submitted, I wasn't prepared to push the vote higher as I felt it was justified. 4. An entry that could have been good, but is missing that extra 15 minutes of work or thought behind it. 5. It's average. Not great, not bad. It can get on your nerves when you get those 'unjust' low votes, but we have all received those and will likely continue to receive them as new members find their feet. Best to just put it out of your mind and cross your fingers that you will start getting some quality feedback on your quality work.
