Technically a very cool job. Not quite clear what's MJ doing here though. I would also make the image larger - it's quite small.

Michael Jackson once owned the entire Beatles publishing catalog, at least all their works created to 1967 but sold large parts of it to Sony to finance his later career and lifestyle. MJ owns 50% of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which in turn owns most of the Beatles publishing rights. Sony and Michael Jackson jointly hold rights to the Beatles music at present. As Michael Jackson has just died, it remains to be seen who will get his shares in those rights. Heavy debts run up by MJ may have allowed another or others to step in and win his share (or a portion thereof) of those right. Interesting.

I hear the Elephant Man and some chimp are implimenting a hostile takeover. Meanwhile steam is still reported to be rising from John Lennon's grave Nice chop. I do have a technical question. How come did you elect to blend cobalt and aqua in the BKG sky and clouds. Those two generally do not go together and are a nightmare to blend realistically; though you pulled it off well. This is a great concept. Wish I thought of it. Gone too soon indeed

Hey Hitzy, there are lots of maneuvers behind the scenes, making those connections is what I like to do. Makes for an original piece. About the azure background, I originally had a red sky with a red glow along the treeline and red again coming from the screen of the iPod. The red gave the image too much of a horror feel so I recoloured beginning with the iPod screen. To make a quick colour change it was easy as changing hue/saturation on each of the background layers. The blue gave the image a spiritual feel which worked better for me. The sky had a red gradient which shifted into the final cobalt and aqua colours nicely. The aquas could then be blended forward into the green grass without a big clash of colours. Bit of luck involved also.
