Within 24 hours of the announcement that the ads would be put on bases beginning next month, Major League Baseball reversed itself on the issue -- no ads. Under the original (and now cancelled) plan, the ads were to appear on the bases -- but not home plate -- during baseball games played from June 11 through 13. The New York Yankees led the way towards the demise of the ads -- indicating that they would permit the ads on the bases during batting practice and only for a solitary game. |
