| Wooden barrels are made from staves (boards, prepared in a special manner) and strapped down with wooden (more often with bird cherry trees) or with metal hoops.
Not all types of trees can be used for the manufacturing the barrels. The types of trees used for manufacturing barrels include linden, beech, oak, aspen, hoop – hazel wood, bird cherry and cedar.
The current cedar barrel is made from relict cedar, split along the fibers. The machine-made cedar barrel is made from lumber; the structure of the wood is damaged if it is used as a bathhouse. After 3-4 months of use, the sawn wood accumulates moisture and the moisture deforms the barrel or the barrel itself cracks. The usage period of machine-manufactured cedar barrels is no more than 6 months if the barrel is used to a maximum of 20 - 25 times a day. In mini-bathhouses, 100% humidity is constantly maintained. The difference between the 100% effect of water vapor or water on wood is absent, moreover, hot vapors penetrate deep into wood and constantly condenses. The cedar barrel is created manually, from relict cedar from Mountain Altai, without uniform knots and any impregnations. The life of cedar barrels made from split cedar is up to 100 years. The structure of the split wood is not damaged and the wood is moisture-proof, does not rot and does not get spoiled. If you are procuring split cedar barrel, then it is necessary to request the seller to indicate this in the invoice. Many companies are fraudulent and sell machine-made barrels in place of exclusive split cedar barrel. It is very easy to identify the original and machine-made barrels through comparison or using the knowledge of a specialist (knots and figures of wood are absent). |
