| This contest is fueled by the following news: |
| | This week Senator Barack Obama has officially started his
campaign for presidential elections 2008. Relatively new to politics, Illinois
senator is turning his inexperience into appeal to voters looking for
changes. In his opening campaign statement, Obama said the country is ready for a change to a new kind of politics. He accused White
House of leading too biased politics incapable of making common sense
decisions due to being corrupt with power, money, and personal
influences. "That is the first thing we have to change," said Obama.
The senator filed the paperwork forming his presidential committee
that gives his right to raise money and organize a presidential
campaign. Obama's smart talking, young age, unique ethnic background
and opposition to Iraq war make him a good contender to even
candidates like Hillary Clinton with solid political background.
Obama's smooth talk and appeal to public made him a favorite among
many voters who come in large numbers to his meetings with public.
Barack Obama quickly earned endorsements of many celebrities including
TV diva Oprah Winfrey, actors Matt Damon and Edward Norton, and
investor Warren Buffett.
In 2004 Obama, then a freshman senator, said he had no plans for
presidency, but closer to 2006 his statements changed to leave this
option open. Obama said that only after he traveled the country a lot this year
and discussions with many people he changed his mind and decided to
run for the President of United States in 2008.
Senator Hillary Clinton is about to announce her presidential campaign 2008
within days, and so far there has not been a reaction from Clinton camp
on Obama's bid for presidency. |
