great idea, and with just a little more work... One thing is that half sign on the left, detracts considerably.

The shadows cast by the signs that you have positioned in the street are making them appear two-dimensional. Just limit your shadowing to the areas where the elements come in contact with the street surface. Also, try varying the lighting on the added elements to create a bit of depth to them.
