| Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger, born on 30 July 1947, is American actor of Austrian origin, politician – republican, businessman, bodybuilder, jazz trumpet player and 38th Governor of California (Elected in 2003).
Biography:
He was born in Thal, countryside in Austria (just six kilometers away from Graz) in a police family.
In adolescence, Arnold become fond of bodybuilding.
In 1965, Schwarzenegger served in the Austrian army to fulfill the one year of service required of all 18-year-old Austrian males at the time.
With 20 dollars in pocket, Schwarzenegger moved to the United States in September 1968 speaking little English. Arnold Schwarzenegger became citizen of USA only in 1983 (Till that time, he was a citizen of Austria).
He started acting in films from 1969. Schwarzenegger's breakthrough film was the "mythical epic "Conan the Barbarian” in the beginning of 1980’s, which was a box office hit.
Schwarzenegger was adjudged “Mr. Olympia” (prestigious title for bodybuilder) from 1970 to 1975 and also in 1980. He was also adjudged “Mr.Universe”.
In 1986, Arnold Schwarzenegger married Maria Shriver, niece of former US President John Kennedy. She rears the four children: Daughters Katherine and Christina and sons Patrick and Christopher. Interestingly, Schwarzenegger is an ardent Republican but Maria Schwarzenegger comes from a famous democratic clan Kennedy.
Arnold is famous for the phrase “I’ll be back” which he says in the movie “Terminator.” This sentence a part of the movie script.
In 2003, Schwarzenegger was elected as Governor of State California (USA). These were recall elections as a result of which, the elected Governor Gray Davis demitted the office (second time in the history of America that the electors wanted a pre-term “recall” election for Governor). Schwarzenegger (elected to Governor in November 2003) got plenary powers till the end of the stated that, he would contest the elections in 2006 for full term and was successfully reelected, becoming sole republican Governor to win.
Member of the cast alongside Arnold in films “Predator” and “Running Man”, professional wrestler Jesse Ventura had become Minnesota Governor long ago in nineties.
Acting career:
Even though, admittedly, Arnold Schwarzenegger does not possess outstanding acting talents, he is considered as one of the famous actors in the world. Reason being his success— incredible charismatic appearance, combined with physical strength, masculine handsomeness and self-confidence. Ampoule of Schwarzenegger – one man hero. Many of the roles he played were in fiction films, even though in several films, he portrayed comic roles (For example: “Twins”, “Kindergarten cop”, "Junior", "True lies", "Jingle all the way").

It is also to mention that films “Commando” and “Predator” were successful films of Arnold. On might say that, film career of Arnold Schwarzenegger flourished during 1985—1991.
Difficult to pronounce surname Schwarzenegger (sometimes incorrectly written as Schwarznegger) means “Black ploughman”. Not to embarrass the audience with such a complicate surname, Schwarzenegger started his film career under a pseudo name “Arnold Strong”. |
The "Terminator" Arnold Schwarzenegger is celebrating his 60th birthday today. It is somewhat strange to realize he is 60 already - just yesterday we have seen him in Terminator movies.
Years ago Arnold had quit his acting career and moved into politics - he has been a Governor of California since 2003. "Terminator 4" is expected to hit the theaters in the summer of 2009.
Ironically for many fans, "Terminator 4" will go on without Arnold.
