[ The world's oldest ice hockey stick, a hickory shaft carved in the 1850s, was sold for $2.2 million at the auction, and will be displayed at the Hockey Hall of Fame.]
$2.2 million is a ridiculously high price for an old ice hockey stick. I mean it's the whole two weeks pay of an average NHL player.
In this contest you are asked to give antique look to anything hockey. E.g. use or create antique helmets, masks, gloves, sticks, pucks, skates, and outfit, instead of the ones used in hockey nowadays.

| This contest is fueled by the following news: |
| | The world's oldest ice hockey stick, a hickory shaft carved in the 1850s, sold for 1.9 million dollars US and will be displayed at the Hockey Hall of Fame.
An anonymous Canadian hockey fan made the winning bid in an internet auction purchase, according to 45-year-old seller Gord Sharpe, an Ontario man who has owned the family heirloom since he was nine.
Sharpe said 26 bids were submitted worldwide, with the winning bid from a Canadian who plans to offer the stick to the hall.
David Romeo, chief executive of selling agency Auction Wire, said the ice hockey stick is among the most important items in ice hockey.
"The buyer was a private individual, a Canadian, who wants to remain anonymous. He told us that he plans to have the stick over at Hockey Hall of Fame and to keep it there until he decides what he's going to do," Romeo said.
"For now he wants to keep it in Canada."
Before the auction, the ice hockey stick was on display in a glass case in Wayne Gretzky's Toronto restaurant. |
