This contest is fueled by the following news:
History of Cell Phones: * In 1947, research laboratory Bell Laboratories (belonging to company AT&T) proposed to develop a mobile phone; * In 1973, the first prototype of a portable cell phone, the Motorola DynaTAC was released. It is considered that the first call on this phone was made on April 3, 1973, when its inventor, an employee of Motorola Mr.Martin Cooper called the competitor Joel Engel, belonging to AT&T. DynaTAC weighed about 1.15 kg and had sizes of 22.5х12 5х3.75 cm. 12 keys were positioned on its front panel, out of which 10 were numbers and the remaining two keys for making a call and disconnecting. DynaTAC did not possess a display and no additional functions. In standby mode, DynaTAC could work for eight hours and in talk mode, it could work only for one hour (35 minutes according to other information) and more than 10 hrs were required to completely charge the phone. Up to 1983, 5 prototypes of DynaTac were developed. * In 1981, NMT-450 (Nordic Mobile Telephone) with a working frequency of 450 MHz is considered as the uniform standard for Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Saudi Arabia; * In 1983, Bell Laboratories set the communication system on the basis of the AMPS (Advanced Mobile Phone Service) standard into operation in America; * In 1984, the final model DynaTAC 8000X was out on sale. Consumers were so amazed with the possibility of keeping in touch always with the help of a portable phone that thousands of people registered in a queue to acquire the DynaTAC 8000 X: and all this in spite of the impressive initial price of novelty — $3995!
