|  Scientists and researchers in Borneo who have been searching the swamps discovered a new species of venomous snake. The snake can change its skin color, according to the conservation group called WWF. The ability to change skin color is not unknown in the reptile world. Take, for example, chameleons who have this ability. But, scientists rarely have discovered snakes with this innate ability to change the color of their skin. Typically, reptiles do change color to camouflage themselves from predators. The particular snake that was discovered was 1.6 feet long and was found in the swamp forests that border the Kapuas River within the Betung Kerihum National Park on the Indonesian part of the Borneo island. A WWF specialist, Bambang Supriyanto, considers this a major discovery. |
