A new species of carnivore appears to have been found on Borneo. A cat-like creature was photographed by camera traps set by the World Wildlife Fund. If confirmed, the animal (which appears to have dark red fur and a long and bushy tail) would be the first new carnivore species discovered on the island since 1895. In 1895, the Borneo ferret badger was found on the island. Cameras set up to photograph the cat-like creature has photographed the animal twice thus far. It has been noted, however, that until one of the animals is caught and examined in person, researchers cannot confirm with 100% certainty that the cat is indeed a new species of carnivore.
Japanese scientists genetically cross a bushbaby (Shrubus infantus) and a human president (Shrubus americananus). The American President George Bush's valuable DNA was collected during his state visit to Japan last month when he threw up at a sushi banquet in his honor (much the way his father did when he was president). The Japanese scientists affectionately call their new creation "Mr. Moto." Here we see Mr. Moto, who is a remarkably urbane and erudite creature (he's obviously more than the sum of his parts), enjoying an evening out in downtown Tokyo.
