Prominent ecologists are propounding an unusual plan which might result in lions stalking deer in the middle of a Nebraska corn field. The plan might result in animals like elephants trumpeting over the Colorado high plains. In addition, the plan might result in cheetahs making their way across Texas scrub land. The radical proposal is being greeted with both gasps and groans by different scientists and conservationists. The plan calls for the relocation of foreign animals to these sites -- despite the fact that similar plans have failed in the past. The proponents of the plan contend that it would help African animal species that might otherwise face extinction.
