| | This contest is fueled by the following news: |
| | Andie MacDowell was born on April 21, 1958 in Gaffney, South Carolina (USA). Present name – Rosalie Anderson MacDowell. She was the youngest of four daughters. When she was just six years old, her parents divorced. In 1978, Andie dropped out of Winthrop College and moved to New York, where she was noticed by Elite Model Management.
She was an exclusive model for L’Oreal for several years up to 1989 in the USA and continued to work as a model till 1990. In 1984, Andie met Paul Qualley and both got married in 1986. As an actress, she debuted in the film "Greystoke The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of Apes" in 1984. The picture "Sex, lies and videotape” is considered as the actual beginning of her career as an actress. Since then, Andie has had many opportunities to showcase her talent. Her role in the films “Groundhog Day”, "Multiplicity" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral", deserves admiration. Andie has a son Justin (born in 1986) and two daughters – Rainey (1989) and Sarah Margaret (1995). At present, she lives with her family on a ranch in Montana.
In life, people treated her like a bitch! Would Calvin Klein sign Andie for his television commercials if Andie MacDowell looked like an embodiment of kindness and innocence? Clearly – he would not. Would they ever cast Andie in the erotic film “Sex, lies and videotape” (1989), which has made her popular worldwide, even if the actress was "white and fluffy"?
And only in "Green Card", where Andy stood in front of the lens with Gerard Depardieu, she could manage to show that she is lovely and almost defenseless. At least because, disastrous women look un-sympathetically ridiculous in comedies. Then "Four Weddings and a Funeral" (1994) with Hugh Grant, "Michael" (1996) with Travolta and an honorary title “Faces of L’Oreal", which completely destroyed the myth about Andie's bitchiness, showing her soft and forgiving, that men very much love and appreciate. |
