| Despite the fact that Sanjaya Malakar has been voted off American
Idol, he is becoming famous more than the remaining contestants. His
fame started to rise when he was mentioned by many mass media and TV
shows because of his habit of changing hairstyles every show. In may
not be true that only his hair earned him the fame, but at the same time
he would not be as popular, had he not been so controversial with his
haircuts. Several newspapers stated that his singing talents are quite
low but his interesting personality kept earning him votes to stay on
the show. But, as all good things come to an end, he finally was
voted off when the remaining participants were way above him as
singers. He agreed he was not the best singer but felt he could stay
longer to entertain the American audience a bit more. When it comes to
entertaining, though, he still does it, and even on a bigger scale
than in American Idol. Sanjaya has given numerous interviews to
newspapers and magazines, and has been a favorite guest of several
radio shows ever since he was booted off Idol.
Last Saturday Malakar was invited to the White House correspondents'
dinner in Washington D.C., where he gave several autographs, including
the one to New York Governor. He said he's been so busy and would like
to give autographs and hugs to all his fans that he meets, but it's merely
impossible to do so. Sanjaya, only 17, plans to become a singer and an actor.
"Fame has it's price," said Sanjaya, "but I'm willing to pay it."
This Monday Malakar was invited to Late Show with David Letterman,
where he's read Top 10 list called "Things I learned from American
Idol". The list included some lines about Sanjaya and his
hairstyles. |
