Where's the weird mercury mutant? . . . in the yoke.
According to EPA estimates, enforcement of the existing Clean Air Act will limit mercury pollution to 5 tons per year by 2008. The Bush Administrationís "Clear Skies" initiative weakens the limit to 26 tons per year by 2010! (that's a 520 percent increase in mercury pollution).
Interestingly, the Bush Administration also kept an EPA report about how preganat women pass on mercury to their fetuses (causing mental retardation) under wraps for more than nine months, until journalists exposed the report and forced its release . . . and I thought they LIKED fetuses!
