American actor Alec Baldwin celebrated his 50th birthday this Thursday. Baldwin comes from the family of actors and is the oldest and the most famous of the Baldwin brothers. Some of Alec's recent notable performances include the boxoffice hits "The Aviator" and "The Departed". Baldwin married Kim Basinger in 1993, and they were considered one of the best Hollywood couples. Sadly this marriage ended in 2002, and currently Baldwin is writing a book about his personal life.

Alec Baldwin (real name – Alexander Rae Baldwin III) was born on April 3, 1958 in Massapequa, New York State, USA. He graduated in “Political Sciences” from George Washington University, Washington and attended New York University to study acting at Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York. “The Doctors” in 1963 was his debut film. He also worked in theater and on Broadway (fairy tale of Craig Lucas “Prelude to a Kiss” and satirical grotesque of Caryl Chruchill’s “Serious Money”). Alec's brothers — William, Daniel and Stephen Baldwin’s are also actors.
A child was born on April 3, 1958 in a small town Massapequa (New York State), who got a solid name Alexander Rae Baldwin III. He was the second of six children in Baldwin's family. Since childhood, Alexander was crazy about theater and cinema. But after schooling, he took admission in the George Washington University in political science faculty under the insistence of father, teacher of sociology, who always dreamt to see the elder son becoming the president of USA. Alexander, being the obedient son, has successfully passed out of the university but as the cinema and stage attracted him more than the politics, he took admission in the New York University to master the elements of acting profession at Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. "My father, - told Alexander in one of the interviews, was of course upset, when I, even after having a bachelor’s degree in political science, took admission in drama school: he was afraid that I will become the regular poor actor. Thank God, he could catch the beginning of my success: the first television roles and the first film".
Really, shortly after Alexander got the first role in television serial "The Doctors", he cut short his long name with shorter one: Alec Baldwin. After release of serial, public noticed the young, coarse appearance, talented actor and he got roles in several television films and as well as in theater. Then, Alec's career was on high. One after the other, many films were released, in which he played roles: "Forever Lulu ", "Working girl", "Talk Radio", "Beetlejuice", "Married to the Mob "... But the present popularity was achieved in 1990 after the release of film "The Hunt for Red October", in which he portrayed a role of CIA agent Jack Ryan, trying to interpret the motives of obstinate captain of submarine" Red October". Marine thriller of John Mctiernan was an instant hit with collections over $130 million. Same year, magazine" People" included Baldwin in the list of fifty most beautiful people of planet.
