| | Al Gore has been on his environmental mission for a while trying to
convince people to start living green lifestyle, or as he calls it carbon neutral lifestyle and use the
alternative fuels and green energy for electricity. His own consumption habits do not coincide with speeches. But
who are we to consider that Al Gore is not green?
Al says living
any other way would ultimately lead to a global environmental
catastrophes and will threaten the existence of the human race on this
planet. In other words he says our consumption habits are slowly
getting us closer and closer to the big environmental problems. In his
new Al Gore film An Inconvenient Truth he suggests that people have less than
10 years to revert the way to the catastrophe which will affect the whole planet.
On paper and words it all looks good - Al Gore suggests several ways
to change our consumption to green: drive hybrid cars, use electricity
which comes from wind and solar energy, start using more small
ecological light bulbs. Gore encourages all good citizens to follow
his own lifestyle examples.
However, his examples are far from his teachings and most Americans
see Gore a good example of an environmentalist. Ironically, his private jet is
causing air pollution as he frequently travels to promote his film An
Inconvenient Truth. And talking about consuming less, Albert Gore is
not serving us with a good example to follow. He owns 3 large mansions
in two Tennessee and Virginia with a total square of over 20,000
square foot. Keeping such real estate propertries requires a lot of spending and maintenance.
The green energy use, which Al Gore so eloquently promotes is not used
in any of his three properties. When asked about why he did not turn
to green energy as he wants us to, Gore spokesman said that there are plans to
start using the electricity which comes from wind energy in their
houses, but they have not yet been implemented.
Last but not least, Al Gore is one of the major shareholders of
Occidental (Oxy) Petroleum which has been drilling in environmentally
endangered areas. Gore also gets thousands
of dollars in royalties from Pasminco Zinc - the company that has been
polluting Tennessee rivers with zinc waists. |

What's all this talk of Al Gore not being green enough? After dining on burritos and refried beans, he generates enough gas to heat the city of Nashville alone.
