Contest Directions: 
Given the current riots in Tibet, China, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are under big question. They will either be held with big restrictions, or canceled altogether if most countries boycott the games in the light of the violent actions from Chinese government to stop the Tibet riots. China's Communist Party warned that it will censor and ban any mass media from broadcasting the Olympic Games if any negative facts about China - including the recent riots - are broadcasted along the footage of the Olympic Games.
Photoshop anything connected to 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in the light of the recent events. Some examples are: designing a logo or poster for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, show how magazine articles and TV footage will be censored, photoshop games controlled by Chinese troops, etc.

| | Summer Olympic Games 2008 will take place in Beijing, the capital city of The People’s Republic Of China from 8th to 24th of August of 2008 year. The opening ceremony will take place at 8:08 according to the local time. Some kind of sports will be placed in the onshore city Qingdao and Hong Kong. The mascot representing the games is Good-luck dolls.
City – Candidates
Beijing was chosen as the capital city for the XXIX Olympics on 13th July 2001 year on 112th International Olympic Committee session in Moscow. The competent were Toronto (Canada), Paris (France), Istanbul (Turkey) and Osaka (Japan). The cities which were not included in the five cities, which were given in the preliminary applications, but did not get into the candidates list in 2000 year: Bangkok (Thailand), Cairo (Egypt), Havana (Cuba), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Seville (Spain).
Beijing submitted tender for the participation in the Summer Olympics of 2000 year, but for those elections, which went in 1993 year, Beijing could not win.
Sporting Objects
Beijing National Stadium, National Gymnasium, Olympic Swimming pool, Olympic village and cultural and sports center – the most important and main subjects are of Olympic constructions. For the whole period of construction execution 2.1 billion dollars (17.4 billion Yuan) have been invested. Totally 37 Olympic objects will be operated in Beijing and 6 Olympic objects will be held out of the capital city. Total cost of investment in the infrastructure of the Olympic Games comes around 50 billion dollars.
The Symbol of Games
Emblem
The emblem for the Beijing Olympic Games was chosen in August 2003 year and was called as “dancing Beijing”. In the emblem the traditional elements of The China were indulged: red background and calligraphically written hieroglyph word Jing (“The Capital of the State”), reminding the figure of sportsmen.
Mascot
11th November of 2005 year, 1000 days to the opening of the games, it was decided, that the symbol of “Good-luck dolls” (Chinese word "Fuwa") will stand as the mascot of the games. According to the Chinese philosophy, the good-luck dolls are five: Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying, and Nini. They in turn consist of five members that incorporate fish, giant panda, fire, Tibetan antelope, and swallow designs. Pronouncing in order the first syllable of the names of each of them we get a Chinese phrase, English translation of which means “Welcome to Beijing”.
Motto
The Olympic committee of Beijing declared on 26th June of 2005 year, that the phrase “One World, One Dream” will stand as the motto of the Olympic Games.
The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games takes place on the 8th of August 2008 year, however the football competition starts on 6th of August it self, two days earlier than the official opening ceremony. Most of the medals will be won in the last but final day of the Games, 23rd august, when the finals of many teams take place.
8 August 2007 year at 08:08:08 according to the local time, at the central square of the Beijing the countdown of the remaining days to Olympic Games was installed.
26th April 2007 year in Beijing, The International Olympic Committee declared the program of the Olympic torch relay schedule. The motto of the torch relay is – “The journey of Harmony”. The relay, which started 137 days before the opening of Olympic Games, will be the longest itself in the history of the Olympic torch relay (137000 kilometers).
The Olympic flame was lit in the Greece city of Olympia on 24th march 2008 year.
The ceremony was tried to abort by the journalists, considering, that China cannot accept Olympics to itself. From the Olympia the flame moves alongside the territory of Greece and on 31st March will be there in Beijing. From the Chinese capital city the flame is sent in direction to all the continents, excluding the Antarctica. The relay will also pass through the cities of the Great Silk Route, symbolizing the ancient relationships of the China with the rest of the World. The flame passes through 22 cities of the world, and many cities of the China.
The relay organizers are also planning to take the Flame to the top of the Mount Everest hills. In June 2007 year it started to raise the 108 kilometer elevation on the top of the hills. The cost of this project is 19.7 million dollars.
The Olympic torch has standard measurements and is made in traditional Chinese style. The torch is designed in such a way so that it will not put off during a 65 km per hour wind and 50 millimeters per hour of heavy rain fall.
The Contest
The program of the Beijing Olympic Games is too similar with the schedule of the Athens Games 2004. In the 2008 Olympic Games 302 set of medals will be played for (165 men’s, 127 women’s and 10 mixed) in 31 varieties, one complement set more than, that it was 4 years back.
